We were first in Croatia to test database bare metal and autonomous data warehouse cloud service provisioned in Oracle data center in Frankfurt. Through this presentation we will introduce you with our experience in building a data center environment in Oracle cloud and the capabilities of the provided console. We will mention new autonomous features and show the results of measurements and comparison of these services with our own environment. Also, this is an opportunity to gain new insights, discuss and possibly provide answer to more and more frequently asked question: How will Oracle database administrator job look like in the future?

Marko Saratlija, author
Marko Saratlija, Master of Science in Mathematics, works in A1 Hrvatska as a expert database administrator where he is primarily responsible for maintaining numerous Oracle databases (transaction and data warehouse) running on AIX and Linux. Through administration of many different systems, he gained a wide range of Oracle technology experience and knowledge and emphasizes a special interest in Oracle's high availability solutions. Additionally, he confirmed his knowledge and skills with certificates: Oracle Database 12c Administrator Certified Professional, Oracle Certified Expert, Oracle Database 12c: Performance Management and Tuning and Oracle Certified Expert, Oracle Exadata X5 Administrator.
