Automated Delivery in the Data Warehouse

Development & Middleware

Date and time

Automated Delivery is State-of-the-Art in Software Engineering. For small and simple applications (mostly in Java Projects), there are existing tools that provide seamless database migrations during software delivery. But in Data Warehouse Project, there are some challenges when it comes to automated delivery, due to the diversity and the variety of the used technologies. This presentation highlights the different approaches to automatic delivery and possible implementations of automated delivery in the Data Warehouse. The talk amplifies subsequently: Why do we need automated delivery? Why are existing database migration not suitable for DWH applications? What are the possible approaches to automatic delivery? Which preconditions are necessary for a DWH development project to successfully establish automated delivery? .. and shows - based on an existing project – how a project evolves from the classic delivery approach to a modern, automatic delivery.
