There are a lot of open data sets on the Internet meant to be analyzed by people interested in data science, big data and who knows what. The fact is that many of these data sets are not really that big and can easily be imported into Oracle XE. This presentation will show you how you can have fun with SQL Developer, the SQL language and many of the rich functions in the Oracle database in order to discover new insight and become a better analyst. This presentation is for DBAs who needs to fresh up their knowledge on SQL, and for beginners who would like to have some fun with the database.

Øyvind Isene is a DBA and DBA consultant, working and living in Oslo, Norway. He enjoys working with the Oracle database, and helping other people with it. He spends quite a lot of time in the Oracle community and enjoys networking with other Oracle professionals. He became an Oracle ACE in 2015.
