Currently, there's one crucial question many IT professionals are asking: "How can I stay up to date with the flood of new information?"In this presentation I will show methods that have helped me personally and still help me to deal with emerging technologies even in times without conferences on premises and without the daily exchange with colleagues in the office. There are several ways to keep up to date. I'll show you my daily routine and share a list of curated sources which can be used to get an overview about emerging technologies. Especially the current times are challenging and require a special level of motivation to not fall into the daily grind. This talk can help you to make learning a convenient routine.

Kai Donato, author
Kai Donato is Teamlead JavaScript and senior consultant for Oracle APEX Development at MT AG in Ratingen, Germany. He is leading a team of 10 consultants which are specialized in JavaScript and Oracle APEX Development. He finished his vocational education as an IT specialist (system integration) in 2013. Since January 2014, he has worked as a consultant for Oracle APEX Development and uses his skills in web development to work on projects with a particular focus on UI and UX as well as PL/SQL. His extensive knowledge about JavaScript has an effect on every project he's working on. Furthermore, he is responsible for JavaScript and HTML5 at the German Oracle User Group (DOAG). Since 2018 he is leading the Competence Center JavaScript which is used to share JavaScript knowledge and to educate colleagues in this technology. As the responsible Person for the JavaScript-Stream at APEXconnect-Conference, he is influencing the growing perception of JavaScript at DOAG.
